Work behind the Embankment Cycle Way

The Embankment Cycle Way was reconnoitred by the Swedish Cycling Society (SCS) during 1995–96, with supplementary work done in several stages thereafter. The project has been developed in collaboration with those responsible for tourism, leisure and culture within the municipalities of Halmstad, Ljungby, Alvesta, Tingsryd, Olofström and Karlshamn. The first phase of the project (the cycle tourist route) has been financed by the county administrative boards of Halland, Kronoberg and Blekinge. SCS has sign-posted this route, and also looks after the maintenance of the signs. Additional maintenance is handled by the municipalities.
